Personality: 
"Wow, really? I have to tell people what I'm like? If you met me you could just find out yourself. No. Like seriously, just talk to me, I'm sure we could hang out and be friends and stuff."

Generally a very friendly person, Vanessa is easy to approach and is the type of person to start a conversation with someone who's never met on whim. She does this at her own pace while staying diligent to the matter. If things are against her beliefs, likes, or morals, she generally refuses to do it. This can lead to problems when she's doing work at the HERO headquarters. /cough paperwork/ Vanessa is also incredibly sarcastic to the point where it's hard to tell when she's telling the truth or she's just being snarky. Most of the times, she treads on careful ground when she speaks. Her experiences have taught her to take in private space and chose careful words to try not to offend people. She generally dislikes being touched without her permission and makes faces at everyone who does this. Vanessa is incredibly honest and cynical. She also holds a lot of pride, sticking with one side of an argument until the opposing side shows concrete proof. Even then, Vanessa might be doubtful. She holds her secrets close to her heart and keeps personal issues to herself, only telling her closest friends.

Backstory:
 "I'm not going to say anything, it's my business and you have NO RIGHT to be snooping around in my junk."

Mickey grew up in deep south and though most times had moved the the times, the issues and deep prejudice regarding race and sexual attraction had not. Mickey grew up in a family of five with his mom, step-dad and two older brothers and slowly came to realize that he was different from the rest of the boys at school and at his home: he liked dresses and play with what most boys deemed "girl toys." Increasingly afraid of all the feelings of envy he felt towards women, he immersed himself in "masculine activities" to hide any signs of wanting to be a female. This continued until high school where emotion, stress, and hormones all built up to the point where Mickey could no longer keep it a secret. He told his family and close friends the truth. His family, surprisingly, accepted him with open arms, his brothers even claiming that they, "Knew it from the start." His friends had a less than happy. They ignored Mickey and started to quietly bully him, which was tolerable to him, Mickey had known that not everything was going to work out with his confession. But he would never have expected the horrible crime they committed against him.

It was near the end of senior year, Mickey had been accepted to a school in the west coast. One that came with a high scholarship and a easy way into college; one oh his old "friends", who also applied to the school, din't get in. By then there were already rumors going around that Mickey was a transsexual. Maybe from the jealousy, maybe from the hatred, or a mixture of both, a group formed to "teach him a lesson." On a hot summer night, a group of boys grabbed Mickey and tied him on the back of a car, they dragged him for several miles before throwing him into a dark shed. Then there was only darkness, Micky could not move, they were no light, no water. He could feel his eyes closing on him, then there was nothing. 

His eyes stung and he could not feel his body anymore, his body changed into a dark substance. One that was as dark as the insides of the shed and loose as what his limbs felt like. His new strength did nothing to help him, he was still trapped in the shed and he felt the last of his strength disappearing. He uttered a final sob before closing his eyes one final time, with the last word running out of his mouth he heard a crack. The wall of the shack opened and his family and other citizens rejoiced. They rejoiced and brought him to the hospital, when he recovered quickly. He set off to college but not before changing her name to Vanessa. They was a flame of hatred and passion running through her now that could not be stopped.

She started using her new powers as a villain, committing hate crimes against enemies of the LGBTQ community. She continued this for a year before coming to see that there was no pleasure or profitable gains from what she was doing. She used all the money she had earned through villainy to get an operation then, she quit VILLAIN and moved to the east coast. She joined HERO after formally confronting a hero (read that as assaulting) and persuading them to let her join. Since then, she's been double majoring in feminist studies and pre-law while kicking villain butt on the side. 

Powers: 
"I'm good at shooting these black balls at people, blinding them and grabbing them with the stuff. I can't really hurt people physically as more, like, hurting them mentally. I can also hide in the shadows and grab people. I don't know, you know? It's like hard to explain but it looks cool, or people have told me."

1. Can see in mid darkness (minor) Stealth in darkness. The whites in her eyes turn black and her hair extends into a dark matter.

2. Can see in darker areas (minor) Can shoot a fuzzy dark ball at enemies. The balls take no physical form and cannot be felt; they look like a dark fog. The balls do not have a physical effect but have the ability to slow down or paralyze the enemy for a short while. limited use. 
 -People affected by the attack have claimed to have shadowy imagery of their fears, causing shock to bestow on them

3. Can see in dark areas (minor) Darkness now has a more physical form. The darkness can now be extended into what looks like arms /or tentacles/ The darkness now feels like an impact on a person if pushed through them but is not hard enough to hurt them head on. Can be used to throw people again walls if thrown at an high enough impact.(think cornstarch and water) limited use.

4. Can see through pure darkness (minor) Darkness a strange mixture of the none physical state from stage two and a physical form from stage three. It can now change shapes and generally manifests into the shape of the fears of the enemy. Can attack and instill fear but can do no physical damage.

5. Seeing through darkness same as level four. (minor) Same abilities from level four but now the shapes have the consistency of level 3 physically.
 
Weakness:

Her powers do no do physical damage on it own. If faces in the air or in any place where boundaries serve no purpose to attacks, her attacks don't do much without help. Bright sunlight hurts her eyes, faced with blinding lights, she would most likely be at a incredible disadvantage. Her powers are based on darkness and fear; sometimes fear can be minor and will not have much of an effect on an enemy. Some fears are hard to produce.

Duties: 
"I had to do boring stuff for a real long time but now I'm actually helping people with stuff. Yeah. Like, serious stuff that normal peeps shouldn't be trying to get into. I don't even know if I'm even that great to be getting into this junk."

Vanessa usually helps with cases with any criminals that have hurt or about to hurt victims. This generally means one person about to be assaulted but can be situations where several or more victims are in the line. She also deals with VILLAINS of her level or lower. Due to her past and her skewed sense of justice, she will refuse to help a victim if there is information about them that goes against her morals.
She is supposed to do her own paperwork but she refuses to fill it in formally. Her last formal paperwork came in three months ago, now it's incredibly informal and very hard to understand.
